Hunter finds out about Saralee and James...that's a thing to see!
Prompt: “I’m….just going to leave now.” / “Wait! I can explain! / “Thanks, but at this point, I’m not sure I want an explanation…..” Hunter walked into the training room. He was ready to pound James into the ground in a good training session. He paused in his tracks, his eyes widening. Nothing had quite knocked him quite as senseless before. James and Saralee pulled apart and slowly looked at Hunter and slightly pulling apart, looking down at the ground as Saralee’s face flushed. For the first time in his life, James looked more than a little uncomfortable around Hunter and couldn’t look his best friend in the eye. “I’m….” Hunter said, at a total loss for words. He just kept staring at the two of them, trying to comprehend what he had just seen. “I’m….just,” he pointed to the door, “I’m just….going to leave now,” Hunter finished. He wanted to get as far away from this situation as possible. “Wait!” James called out, finally finding his voice, “I can explain!” He began to chase after his friend. “Thanks,” Hunter said, “But at this point, I’m not sure I want an explanation.” He already had too much to process. He didn’t think he could handle having to process James’ explanation, whether or not it was the truth or not was another matter entirely. a

Here is yesterday’s prompt. Yesterday was a day. I totally forgot to pick a prompt until late in the afternoon, and then I totally spaced writing it until this morning when I got the prompt from Torri, and it reminded me that I didn’t, in fact, write yesterday’s prompt. So here is a two in one blog post for you. You do get two different prompts, as I didn’t combine them to make a longer post.
Prompt: “All I ever wanted to do, was help my people.” / “Well, your highness….you failed. Their lives are now more miserable than ever.” Sasha stared down at her people. Her heart breaking. She never could have anticipated something like this happening. Her father wasn’t supposed to have been murdered, by his own people, no less. Now her people were rioting in the streets. Those who were in favor of murdering the king were attacking those that were still loyal subjects. It was utter chaos, and she was powerless to stop it. She was worthless as a queen, as a ruler. She hadn’t been able to save or protect or even help herself, what made her think she could do that for an entire kingdom? It was a foolish thought. “All I ever wanted to do,” Sasha said quietly to herself as her heart ached at the sight, “Was to help my people.” She had been too absorbed in her grief to realize that someone had come into the room and was watching her. “Well, your highness,” Lauralie said with a mocking bow as she stepped closer to Sasha, “You failed.” Lauralie smiled with glee at being able to rub that in Sasha’s face. Sasha jumped at the sudden presence, but quickly took back her dignity and straightened her shoulders. She was still a queen, and she wasn’t going to let Lauralie take that from her. “Their lives are now more miserable than ever,” Lauralie continued. Sasha turned to look at the window and her people once more. Lauralie was right. They were a kingdom divided and everyone was suffering. Prompt: “There’s a happy ending to this, right?” / “Not likely. No.” Carrie looked up at Hunter, trying to catch her breath after the kiss they had just shared. Her heart was hammering inside of her chest, and she wondered if Hunter, with his seemingly super human hearing, could hear it too. “There is a happy ending to this,” Carrie said breathlessly, “Right?” her eyes were pleading with Hunter to confirm, that, yes, there would be a happy ending for them; that someday, the two of them would be together, that they would make it all work out. Hunter stared into Carrie’s deep green eyes. He felt her longing, her desire, her pleading. It tugged at his heart. He wanted to give her the answer she wanted, but he couldn’t lie to her. He couldn’t make a promise that he couldn’t keep. He couldn’t do this to her. “Not likely,” Hunter looked away as he shook his head, “No,” he said more firmly as he pulled himself away from their entanglement. Both hearts were aching as he walked away. Prompt: Just one? But I deserve more than one don’t you think?
“You can have one cookie before dinner,” Charles said, holding out the cookie in front of Ryan. Ryan stared at him like he had lost his mind. “Just one?” she pouted. She had done such a good job today. She had been the best dog of them all. She had sealed the deal in seconds flat. One cookie wasn’t enough. Not after all she had done. “But I deserve more than one,” Ryan said, “Don’t you think?” Ryan tried her best, big eyed look. Charles stared at her. That face could get her anything she wanted. Charles caved. I did change the gender and the name but the prompt remains the same.
Prompt: “I’m….uh…..” / “Nick. His name is Nick.” / “Thanks for saving me.” / “You wanted me to teach you how to become a spy? Well, lesson one: pick a name before starting the mission.” “Who are you?” the man asked, looking at the girl in front of him. “I’m….uh…” Alysha said…. Her mind blanked. She couldn’t for the life of her think of a name. She didn’t even know any names. “Nancy,” Charles jumped in, “Her name is Nancy.” Alysha took a deep breath and smiled slightly over at Charles. She still didn’t like Charles, but she couldn’t help but be grateful that he had been there and had bailed her out of what could have been a very sticky situation. “Thanks for saving me,” Alysha said when they had finished closing the deal and were walking away with their money. “You wanted me to teach you how to become a con man?” he said, turning toward the rest of the group. The group all nodded their heads in unison. “Well, lesson one:” Charles said, turning to look at them all and make sure that they were all paying attention, “Pick a name before starting the mission!” Prompt: “This ting itches, take it away.” / “I can’t that thing is helping you heal.” / “I don’t like it, take it away!”
“This thing itches,” Aiden complained, trying to reach into his cast and scratch, “Take it away.” “I can’t,” Allen said, slapping Aiden’s hand away, “That THING,” he struggled to keep Aiden from taking off the cast, “Is helping you heal.” “I don’t like it,” Aiden hissed, “Take it away!” he ordered. Allen shook his head. Sometimes he wondered how he and Aiden were still friends. Here are the prompts for this weekend.
Prompt: “I taught you how to pick locks and this is how you use that skill? Charles walked in as Ryan was picking the lock of Skye’s journal. He stood in the doorway and watched as she opened it with ease. “I taught you how to pick locks,” Charles said, causing Ryan to jump and look back guiltily, until she noticed that it was only Charles and seemed to shrug it off as if she couldn’t care less if Charles found her picking the lock, “And this is how you use that skill?” Charles sounded disappointed. “I have to know,” Ryan said, “I have to know how she really feels about Kevin. So yes, if that means I have to pick the lock on her journal than so be it.” Prompt: “Be wary of him. I don’t trust him.” / “Do you trust anyone?” / “I trust you.” “Be wary of him,” Hunter said, gently maneuvering Carrie away from the man in front of her, “I don’t trust him,” he whispered lightly in her ear so the man couldn’t hear the two of them. “Do you trust anyone?” Carrie asked, looking over at Hunter curiously. “I trust you.” Carrie’s heart leapt at the sound of that. For someone like Hunter, who didn’t love anyone, didn’t trust anyone, having him tell her that he trusted her was probably as close as she was going to get to him telling her that he loved her. It was the most tender, intimate thing that he could have said, and it made Carrie giddy at the thought. Prompt: “Are you alright? You haven’t said a word all day.” / “Oh, yeah, sorry about that….”/ “No, don’t apologize, it was a pleasant surprise.”
“Are you alright?” Felicia asked, staring at Aiden in confusion, “You haven’t said a word all day.” That was unusual for him. Usually he was gabbing nonstop and trying to flirt with her, and just generally trying to get under her skin. “Oh, yeah,” Aiden said, distractedly, “Sorry about that…..” His mind was obviously somewhere else. He couldn’t even figure out what his problem was. “No,” Felicia shook her head, “Don’t apologize,” she didn’t want him apologizing, “It was a pleasant surprise.” Prompt: The field was covered in various weapons and pieces of armor, but no bodies. Not a single drop of blood.
Hunter looked out over the field where a massive battle must have been. At least that’s what he had assumed since the field was covered in various weapons and pieces of armor. However, there were no bodies. Not a single drop of blood. Nothing. Only the weapons and the armor were left there to prove that there had been a battle. “Watch out,” Hunter said, holding Carrie back from rushing forward too fast. This could be a trap, and he didn’t want to rush into anything, and he especially didn’t want her to get hurt. Prompt: “Ew! Dude, that’s my sister. IF you’re gonna kiss her do it when I’m not around, gosh!” / “Uh, okay, then leave the room.” / “I can’t do that! You’ll kiss my sister!”
They were too engrossed in their kiss that they didn’t even hear when Allen walked into the room and saw the two of them. Allen stared at Hunter and Carrie kissing on the couch, trying to wrap his mind around what he was seeing. When he finally came to his senses he couldn’t help the words that came out of his mouth. “Ew!” Allen said. The two of them broke apart and looked guiltily over at Allen. “Dude,” Allen said, staring at Hunter and then at Carrie and then back again, “That’s my sister,” he looked at Hunter and pointed at Carrie, “If you’re gonna kiss her do it when I’m not around, gosh!” Allen groaned. That wasn’t something he ever wanted to see. That was his little sister. He didn’t care how good a guy Hunter was, it was his little sister and he didn’t want to see anyone kissing her, ever. “Uh, okay,” Carrie laughed and rolled her eyes, “Then leave the room,” her voice made it clear that it was more of an order than a request. “I can’t do that!” Allen said. “Why?” Hunter asked. It made perfect sense to him. “You’ll kiss my sister!” Allen said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Oh my gosh, Allen,” Carrie said, “Just leave. Please.” Allen stared at the two of them. He would have stayed there forever if it hadn’t been for Felicia coming into the room at that moment. She immediately sized up the situation and with a knowing look toward Carrie and Hunter, dragged Allen out of the room, letting Hunter and Carrie resume their kiss. Prompt: I'm not the person you thought I was.
"I have a confession to make," Skye said, and then she made a face. She had been trying to figure out a way to tell Kevin the truth, but couldn't figure out how exactly to go about it without putting her friends at risk at the same time. "I have to tell you something," she tried again. She had to tell him. She was falling in love with him and she couldn't let it continue without telling him the truth. That was why she hadn't dated since Hannah died. She couldn't lie to a person she was in a relationship with. "Hey, talking about lies," she groaned. This was impossible. Why was it so hard? All she had to do was say that she wasn't the person he thought he was. Only a few little words. Why was it such a struggle. "Hey Kevin," she pretended he was sitting right in front of her, "I'm not the person you thought I was." See? Simple.....If only. |
