Prompt: How soon is too soon?
“How soon is too soon?” Anna asked. “Too soon for what?” Gemma asked. “To tell someone that you love them,” Anna said dreamily. “Well, seeing as you just met him two days ago,” Gemma said, “I’d probably say that it is too soon to go that drastic. You don’t even know the man.” “But it feels like we’ve known each other for forever.” Gemma’s mind swam. She couldn’t even think how Anna thought she was ready to say that she loved this guy that she barely knew. She barely got to the point that she was admitting to herself that she was in love with Lance, she couldn’t even think of telling him yet, and here her friend was, ready after one meeting. Prompt: The visions aren’t so bad when you’re around.
Carrie woke up screaming. Her heart hammering in her chest. She was soaked with sweat, but was unbearably cold at the same time. “What’s wrong?” Hunter rushed through the door, sword drawn, ready to attack someone. Tears spilled onto Carrie’s face as she shook her head. Hunter put his sword down and went to Carrie’s side. “What’s wrong?” he said, more gently. “I can’t get the visions to stop,” Carrie hiccuped as she tried to take a deep breath, “They just seem to be getting worse.” “Should I get Jesse?” “No,” Carrie shook her head, and grabbed onto his arm to stop him from going anywhere. The two of them looked down at what was happening, Carrie reluctantly and embarrassedly released her hold. “It’s just,” Carrie explained softly, “The visions aren’t so bad when you’re around.” Hunter settled back onto the bed and let Carrie wrap herself around him. He placed his arms gently down around her, letting her drift off to the sound of his heartbeat, and finally get a moments peace. This was a hard prompt....it was so vague, and could have gone a lot of different ways.
Prompt: Blue “I’m blue dabadodabado,” Betsy sang horribly out of tune as she danced around the kitchen. “And you’re done,” Jessica said, snatching the candy bar out of Betsy’s hand, “No more sugar for you. That just made Betsy sing even louder, staring forlornly at her candy bar in the hands of her roommate. Now she really was blue. |
