Happy New Year's Eve everyone!!!
Prompt: New Year’s Eve Party “Listen up everybody!” Jaycob said into the microphone, “It’s almost midnight! So let’s begin the countdown.” The crowd cheered, and the countdown began. “Ten, nine, eight, seven, six, five, four, three, two, ONE.” At the count of one confetti was thrown out, covering everyone in the room and balloons fell from the roof. Everyone was cheering. All around them, people were kissing each other, bringing in the New Year with a kiss. Parker glanced over to Anna. She was standing so close to him. “Happy New Year!” he smiled over at Anna. “Happy New Year!” Anna smiled back. They were standing so close to each other. He could smell her ocean breeze shampoo wafting up at him. Before he realized what was happening he leaned down and placed a kiss on Anna’s lips. Lance wrapped Gemma up in an embrace, giving her a kiss on the cheek. Gemma glanced over at Anna and Parker. A smile spread across her face. That was great.

Prompt: You were born blind, but somehow, sometimes see some actual people in the darkness. You saw your grandmother for a whole day four years ago, she died that night. Now you’re in your house and could see every person clearly, except for the visitor your dad is talking to.
Everywhere I’m surrounded by darkness. I didn’t have my sight when I was born. I don’t remember ever being able to see a thing. However, I am able to see some people, sometimes. I don’t know how, or why it happens, but it does happen. Once, when I was younger, I saw my grandmother. She was walking around all day. She was everywhere I went. It was great. I finally got to see what my grandmother looked like. That night, I heard my father tell my mother that my grandmother had died. It broke my heart. After finally getting to see her, she was gone from me. The same thing happened when my grandfather died. I saw him wandering around all day, the next day he was found dead in his house. I finally realized that I somehow was able to see people right before they died. A few days after my sixteenth birthday I was able to see my mother, my father, and my younger brother. I walked around all day being able to see them. Then right after dinner, my father had a visitor over. Out of everyone I wasn’t able to see my father’s visitor. I could hear his voice, I knew where he was, but unlike the rest of my family I wasn’t able to see this visitor. I could feel my heart racing, causing it to block out my airway. My mind was racing and I was freaking out. I ran toward my mother. I had to tell someone. There was something off about this visitor and I needed to warn my family. I needed to prevent this terrible thing from happening. “Mom!” I whispered loudly. She glanced over at me, and walked over to me. “Mom,” I try to take a deep breath, I try to calm my racing heart, “Mom, we have to get dad’s visitor out of here. We need him to get him to leave. There’s something not right about him.” “Nonsense,” my mom said, “It’s totally fine. He’s a friend from work. He’s a great guy.” “No!” I’m near tears, “There’s something off. Please, can’t we just tell him to go home?” My mom kissed me on the top of my head and walked back to cleaning up the kitchen. My mom wasn’t going to listen to me, I was going to have to find my father. Hopefully he would listen to me better than my mother did. I walked into the living room, the sight threw me off, leaving me speechless. There on the floor, was my father’s body. I rush to his side and kneel right next to him. I tried to shake him awake, but he wouldn’t move. That’s when I saw the pool of blood behind his head. There was no way that he was still alive. My heart started racing even faster. I got to my feet and blindly raced through the house, feeling my way to my brother’s room, hoping that I’d find him perfectly fine. He was sitting there, on the floor of his bedroom. “Benji,” I hiss, “Benji, come on, we need to get out of here. We need to leave. “What?” he glanced up at me. “I don’t have time to explain, just come with me, please.” Luckily for me, I was his older sister, and he was still at the stage where he listened to me. He got to his feet and began to follow me to the door. Suddenly, he stops short. “What? What’s wrong?” I ask. “He….he,” Benji stammered. I figured what he was trying to say. The man was there. And he must have been scary. We tried to go backwards, but I ended up tripping over him, causing us to both fall. “Don’t bother even screaming,” a faceless voice came from above me, “No one can hear you.” My brother let’s out a strangled scream, and started writhing. I tried slapping away at this figure that I couldn’t see, but it didn’t seem to help. My brother’s body went limp, and I knew I was next. I didn’t try to fight it. With the rest of my family gone, there was no point in fighting. At the strike of 10, my entire family was laying dead in our house. It is the Eve of New Year's Eve Eve....the new year is almost upon us!!! Can't wait to see what 2018 has in store.
Prompt: What does moonlight smell like The sun has gone down, and it is the time for the moon to light the world in its brilliance. It brings with it the smell of new beginnings. It smells of freshness. The smell of unfallen dew. It just brings with it a calmness. Prompt: Write about the seasons in terms of sound.
Spring: It sounds like things coming alive. Birds are chirping. Flowers are coming alive. You can hear them greeting the sun and coming alive. It is vibrant. It’s like the world is finally waking up after a long sleep. After months of near silence, noises are finally coming into play once more. Summer: This season holds the sounds of kids playing. The sound of jump ropes hitting the ground, basketballs going through hoops. It is the sound of food grilling on the barbecue and family get together’s. It’s fireworks, and freedom. Fall: It is the sound of leaves falling, and the leaves crumbling underneath shoes. It’s the sound of wind whistling through trees. Winter: It is the sound of silence. Everything is so quiet, and muffled. All is silent, dead. Prompt: Character B’s head hurts and Character A fusses as their thighs are used as a cushion, saying that it’s probably not comfy and Character B says that it’s perfect because they get to stare up at their face and it has a great view.
Jenica’s head was throbbing. She had been up too late and woken up far too early for far too long, and it was getting to her. She popped some Advil, but she didn’t know how much it was going to help. She put her head in her hands, and began to rub her temple. “Are you okay?” Jaycob asked, his voice oozing with concern. He had been hovering ever since yesterday when she had had that dizzy spell and had to catch herself on the edge of the house in order to keep herself from falling to the ground. Unfortunately Jaycob had been there and seen the whole thing and had been big brother-ing her ever since that moment. “I’m fine,” Jenica said, stopping her rubbing and looking up at him. “Are you sure?” Jaycob raised his eyebrow in disbelief. “Yeah,” Jenica sighed, “I just have a headache.” “You should get some sleep.” “I’m fine.” “Nope, come here,” Jaycob said, grabbing her hand and leading her to the couch. He sat down, and pulled Jenica’s arm until she sat down next to him. He adjusted Jenica so that her head was resting on his lap. “Sorry,” Jaycob said, trying to readjust so that Jenica was more comfortable, “It’s probably not the most comfortable thing in the world.” “It’s fine,” Jenica smiled slightly. It was one of the hovering things that he had been doing that she actually enjoyed. This way she would be able to look up and stare at him, and it would be totally acceptable, and slightly less awkward than otherwise. She had the perfect view. Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
Done with the holiday prompts. It's time to bring back Hunter, and of course, where would Hunter be without Carrie? So of course, she's in there too :) Prompt: “I’ve discovered I love you.” / “When did you discover this?” / “Since all my decisions started to revolve around you.” Hunter looked over at Carrie. Her chest rose and fell lightly as she breathed easily, spent from her journey that night. She had been through a lot in the last few days. His gut churned. She shouldn’t have had to deal with everything she had had to deal with. “What?” Carrie asked softly, slowly beginning to open her eyes. “What, what?” Hunter asked, trying to make it look like he hadn’t just been staring at her. “You’re staring at me,” slowly she adjusted herself so that she was sitting up and looking at him. “I wasn’t. I was…I was just.” “Watching for enemies?” Carrie joked. “Exactly,” Hunter confirmed. “Um hmm, now why don’t you tell me what you were really doing?” “I….discovered something,” Hunter said slowly. “What?” “I’ve discovered,” Hunter said slowly, trying to form all the words correctly, even though he didn’t really understand what he was doing, “I love you.” Carrie looked over at Hunter startled. She couldn’t believe what he had just said. A smile spread across her face. “When did you discover this?” a smile spread even wider on her face. “Since all my decisions started to revolve around you.” “I love you too,” Carrie smiled, leaning over and wrapping her arms around Hunter’s neck. Hunter wrapped his arms around Carrie’s waist, steadying her on his lap. He placed a soft kiss on her lips. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
Prompt: “You didn’t put up any Christmas decorations so my friends and I decided to decorate your lawn for you.” “What are you doing here?” Gemma asked, letting in the group of men that were standing outside of her doorway. “You are having a Christmas party,” Lance said, as if it was supposed to be obvious. “Yes, but you were supposed to here two hours ago, and I wasn’t expecting you guys to be looking like snowmen,” Gemma ushered them inside, getting hot chocolate ready to give to the group of guys. The group sat around sipping hot chocolate, simply waiting for the Christmas party to start. “What took you guys so long?” Anna finally asked. “Well, you see,” Jayson said, “When we were passing by we noticed that you had no decorations outside your house, so we decided to decorate it for you.” The girls looked at each other, and simultaneously rushing out of the building to see what they had done. It looked like Christmas had thrown up on their lawn. “We can’t leave it like this,” Laura said. “Of course, we had to go all out,” Jayson said. “We’re taking this all down, right now,” Jenica said. “Uh, no we’re not,” Jayson said, standing his ground. He would not let someone desecrate his work like that. He would defend his decorating all night long if he had to. Merry Christmas EVE everyone!!!!!!
Prompt: “Absolutely everything went wrong but this was still the best Christmas I’ve ever had so thank you.” Parker groaned as he plopped down on the couch. Anna glanced up from the book she was reading. “Bad final?” Anna asked. “I’m pretty sure I totally bombed it,” he sat up straighter. “I’m sure you did a lot better than you think you did, you always do,” she moved over and sat down next to him, and began to lightly scratch his back. “Thanks,” Parker sighed. “What else is going on?” “What do you mean?” “You’ve been like this like all week, and don’t just say it’s finals week, it’s more than just being stressed for finals.” “It’s nothing,” he glanced over at Anna, which was a mistake, “Fine. My parents decided to go on this great world adventure for Christmas, so I’m here for the holidays.” “What?!” Anna shrieked. She couldn’t let that happen. She couldn’t just leave Parker here all alone. She couldn’t let that happen. An idea sparked in her mind, she was going to make this the best Christmas Parker ever had. The next day, Anna caught up to him in the Student Union Building. “Hey! Hey!” Anna raced up to him. “What?” Parker asked, turning to look at her, but not stopping his stride. Anna raced to keep up, “I have great news!” “What?” “Look, can we just stop for a minute?” Parker stopped in his tracks and looked over at her. “You are coming to my home for Christmas!” “What? No! I mean, you don’t have to do that. I’m fine, really.” “I want to. It’s great. My family is totally stoked to have you come!” Parker gave in. He would go to Anna’s house for Christmas. It could either be great, or a totally disaster. As it turned out, it was a total disaster. Everything that could go wrong did go wrong. “Thank you,” Parker said, as they got back to school after the break. “Why? It was terrible. Nothing went right,” Anna moped. She had had high hopes for those two weeks and all of that went down the drain. “Absolutely everything went wrong,” Parker agreed, “But this was still the best Christmas I’ve ever had so thank you.” He gave her a peck on the cheek and went into his apartment. Since it's Christmas Eve Eve, I thought I would do something Christmas-y, kind of get into the Christmas spirit!!!
Prompt: With an awkward chuckle, he pointed to the mistletoe above their heads. “Hey! This is an awesome party!” Jayson said, wrapping his arm around Gemma’s shoulders, “Just what I needed before I go back to my family, and tell them what a disappointment I am.” “Yeah, why don’t we just forget about college and go have some fun?” Laura said, refreshing Jayson’s drink, and taking a sip of her own. In the wee hours of the morning the party finally began to break up. Somewhere during the mix Jaycob and Laura had found themselves mixed up together. “I’ll walk you out,” Laura said after the last of the guests had left. “You don’t have to do that,” Jaycob assured. “I’ll be the good hostess and do my job,” Laura joked. They stopped at the doorway, and the sound of snickering caused them to glance around at Laura’s roommates, and the guys that were still left. Jaycob was the first one to figure out what was going on, and quickly glanced up. Sure enough, there hanging above their heads was a mistletoe. He tapped Laura on the shoulder and with an awkward chuckle, he pointed to the mistletoe above their heads. Laura glanced up too, her face getting redder as the seconds ticked by, and her roommates continued to laugh and to urge them on. “Come on, give her a kiss. It’s tradition,” Anna urged. “Come on, give her a kiss,” Parker said, “You know you want to.” Jaycob smiled sheepishly. He leaned over and placed a timid kiss on Laura’s cheek. “That SO wasn’t a kiss,” Jayson said, “Come on, give her a real kiss.” The two of them shook their heads. Their faces redder than a tomato. With the continued cheering of the group of people, they looked at each other and gave in. Jaycob leaned down and placed a light kiss on Laura’s lips. It would have been easy to just let it end there. They had done their part, appeased the demons, but it was far from over. The kiss deepened, and before they knew it they were pulling away with a different set of cheers. “WHOO!” Jayson clapped! “Now that’s what you call a kiss!” They glanced over at each other, red faced and embarrassed as they glanced toward their friends. “Well,” Jaycob cleared his throat, “Um…I should, um…I should go.” “Yeah, um…yeah,” Laura nodded. The two of them awkwardly went in their own directions, leaving their friends to speculate on the kiss. HAPPY CHRISTMAS EVE EVE, EVERYONE!!!!!!!! Prompt: Every day, Life cuts. You bleed out or heal.
