Ooh....I am so down for this prompt!
It was a random choice one. Is it weird that when I think of a perfect first kiss (and in a lot of my first kiss scenes that I write) I have some kind of question before the kiss? Like a consent to kiss? Prompt: Random prompt generator - first kiss edition Flip a coin: Heads - it was a first kiss fail Tails - it was a magical first kiss Flip again: Heads - it was in public (in front of people) Tails - it was in private Roll 2 dice: 2 - at a party 3 - In a car 4- Make-up after a verbal fight 5 - in hiding (from life threats or awkward encounters 6 - in water (lake?) 7 - among plants or trees 8 - in the kitchen 9 - in the middle of a street 10 - on a horse 11 - on a couch 12 - make-up after a physical fight I got: A magical first kiss, in public (in front of people) at a party Angelica sat in the corner of the room, looking at everyone else having fun. The person she had come with, the honoree of this party, had disappeared within the crowd. Everyone wanted to talk to him, everyone wanted to congratulate him. Everyone was buzzing around him. It was a place that he seemed to thrive in, yet Angelica knew better. He was far from comfortable in a crowd, and events like this were draining. He would go home and sleep for a week after a day like today. She glanced around the room and spotted him. He was scanning the room. She stared at him, waiting for his eyes to find her, and when he did, he gave me the 'help me' signal. She smiled lightly and nodded her head slightly to confirm that she had gotten the message. She got to her feet and began to make her way over to his side. Once at his side, she smiled at the people that were surrounding him and gently patted his arm. "Sorry to interrupt," she said softly, as if just trying to speak to him, but making it loud enough that the people around him could hear as well, "But we have to get going, you have to catch your plane." "Yes, of course," he smiled over at her, his eyes full of gratitude. He made his excuses to the people surrounding him, and grabbing Angelica's hand, they went to his car. The moon was full and bright and lit the way nicely. People mingled around the parking lot, not quite ready to go back inside or quite ready to leave. With his hand on the small of her back, he led her to her car. She turned, pressing her back up against the car in order to give him a hug. "Thank you," Jeremiah said, embracing her. "You looked like you could use some help," Angelica shrugged. "I did," Jeremiah admitted. He looked down at her. The moon was casting a silvery glow on Angelica's face, making her seem other worldly. He took her hands in his and leaned closer to her, leaning his forehead up against hers, their lips a breath away from touching. He closed his eyes, breathing in the moment. Angelica leaned closer in anticipation. "I really," Jeremiah said, pausing his lips trajectory, "Really," he said, breathlessly. He opened his eyes. He wanted to see Angelica's face. He brushed his hand down her cheek, slipping a piece of hair behind her ear as he did so. "Want to kiss you," he kept his hand at her neck, bringing her lips closer, but still not touching as he waited for a response from Angelica. "What's stopping you?" Angelica asked, equally as breathless. As she spoke, she closed the distance between their lips, giving him a gentle peck on the lips. Taking that as permission to kiss her, Jeremiah deepened the kiss, gently taking his time. He had been waiting a long time for this moment, and he wasn't about to rush it now. Just because I really like this scene, because Hunter <3....it could be a first kiss fail, in front of people, with plants lol Carrie was different. Saralee and Felicia, well they were family, and Aiden and Allen felt just like any other soldier that needed to be trained, but Carrie wasn’t like that. Carrie didn’t belong in this kind of world. He didn’t want her to get hurt. He didn’t want to be the one to be responsible for her pain. He knew he was already responsible for too many people’s pain, and he didn’t want to add Carrie to the list. Carrie grabbed his arm, stopping him in his tracks, “That’s not an answer. You’re the best of the best, everyone says so. I want help. I’m the one who asked for it. You can place any blame on me that you want, but teach me!” She was so close to him. He could smell her skin. She smelt like sunshine, of spring and new beginnings. Hunter didn’t think, he simply reacted. He pushed her up against the wall of the training arena, causing her to lose her breath. She was so beautiful standing there in front of him, with her light brown hair hanging loosely around her shoulders, her green eyes sparkling with both confusion and excitement. Her lips were so glossy, so kissable. Hunter wanted to taste those lips. He leaned in closer. Carrie’s heart was beginning to skip beats. Her breathing was heavy and full of anticipation. She didn’t have the capability to form any thoughts. All she could do was react. Hunter was leaning closer, she could feel his breath on her face. She wanted to lean in and kiss him. Hunter was the first to come to his senses. His head cleared quickly as frustration at himself for what he had gotten himself into forced its way through the fog of passion. He couldn’t believe he had just done that. He couldn’t believe he had let himself get so close to kissing her. He kicked himself for his lack of judgement and his own stupidity for letting it get so far out of hand. As suddenly as he had pushed Carrie against the wall, he backed away. He couldn’t let this go any further than it already had. It was too dangerous. Being a part of his life was too dangerous and the closer you got to him, the more dangerous your life would become. If he allowed this to go any further she would become a walking target. He couldn’t do that. Not to her. Carrie’s heart plummeted to the ground as Hunter pulled even further away when Carl and James walked into the training arena with Felicia and Allen on their heels. Aiden brought up the rear, looking like a child who had to watch someone else play with his toys while he was in time out. Felicia stared at Hunter until their eyes met. Felicia’s eyes narrowed in question as she darted her glance over at Carrie and then back at Hunter. Asking him without words what had just happened. Hunter simply shook his head. There was nothing to be said, and now was not the time.
