Prompt: To whomever finds this, you’ll never find me.
I sat at my desk. I stared at the piece of paper. It was the last words. My last words. I didn’t want to think any more. Instead I just put paper to pen and I began to write. To whomever finds this (whomever? Is that a word? I question….no, no thinking….not allowed...just keep it...you can change it later if you need to. This is not the time to edit. Continue...continue...just write…) Sorry, where was I? Oh yeah… To whomever finds this….. I’m gone. I’m lost. Don’t worry about it. I am fine. I will be fine. I’m not scared. I know you’re looking for me. I also know that you will never find me. That’s not a challenge. You won’t. You may find me, you may find someone who looks like me, but it’s not me. I’m not really there. That person that you once knew is gone. Disappeared, vanished. I’m not the person you remember me as. No, dear reader, you will search the entirety of your existence, but you will never find me. I put the pen down. I had written enough. Prompt: “And what would you like with that?”
Parker pulled out a chair and let Anne sit down. “Thank you,” Anne smiled hesitantly. They talked for a moment before the waiter came to their table. “I’ll have the burger,” Parker said. “And what would you like with that?” the waiter asked. “Just some water, thanks.” Orders taken, they went back to talking. It seemed to be going alright. Parker couldn’t help but smile. It had taken them awhile to get where they were, but they got there in the end. Prompt: I’m turning into a human popsicle.
“Can I borrow your jacket?” Ryan asked Henry. “You do know that if I give you my jacket I’ll freeze to death,” Henry said. “Yes, but I’m turning into a human popsicle and I need your jacket.” Henry glared at her. He took it off and handed it to Ryan. She smiled happily, a smile that melted Henry’s heart. He couldn’t stay mad at her. Prompt: Things are about to go down hill
“Everything’s going downhill,” Carrie wrapped her arms around her middle, trying not to let the tears overcome her. Hunter brought her to him and held her. There was nothing else he could do. The situation was what it was, and he couldn’t do anything about it, but just let her deal with it at her own time and in her own way. Prompt: I came to kiss you goodbye
She sat at the airport, taking deep breaths as she got ready to board her plane. She liked to fly, but going through security and trying to find the gate at the correct time always made her nervous. She always felt like she was going to be pulled out of line and not allowed to fly because she had her charger too close to something, or something equally as ridiculous. It always took her a few minutes to breathe and relax after she had gone through security and trying to find her correct gate. “Analisa!” Joseph shouted, rushing over to her. “Joseph?” she asked, getting to her feet, “What are you doing here?” “I came to kiss you goodbye.” “What?” Instead of using more words, he simply kissed her, proving his point. “How did you get through security?” “I bought a cheap ticket to Denver,” he said with a shrug. “But why?” “Because I couldn’t let you leave like that. I couldn’t let you just walk away without saying goodbye.” “I said goodbye,” she said, “Multiple times. Last night, in the car a few minutes ago, we’ve been saying goodbye for weeks.” “Well, I don’t want you to leave, okay? I want you to be here. I want you to stay. I know this is something that you have to do, and I’m glad you have this opportunity, but I don’t want you to go.” She stared at him. She wasn’t sure how to respond to that. “I’m scared. I’m scared that you’ll forget me.” “I could never forget you,” she placed her hand on his cheek, “I love you.” Boarding for her plane was called. She kissed him. “It’s going to be okay,” she said softly, keeping her forehead pressed against his. He nodded, keeping his forehead against hers as well. They stayed there until the last call for boarding was called. “I have to go,” she gave him a kiss and pulled away from him. He watched as she boarded the plane, staying until the plane had pulled away and he could no longer see it, before walking back out of the airport and making his way home. |
