Sorry I've been the worst lately. I haven't posted here in forever. This weekend just kind of got away from me and I just wasn't in the right headspace to write anything, so it kind of fell on the back burner.
Saturday's Prompt: There are times when I am convinced I am unfit for any human relationship. Livianna curled herself into a ball and put her hands to her ears hoping to drown everyone and everything out. She couldn't handle it. Alex walked over to her and put his arms around her, holding her tightly. "There are times when I am convinced I am unfit for any human relationship," Livianna said softly. She was a mess, and certainly unable to handle any kind of relationship. She was barely even human. How was she supposed to have a human relationship? Sunday's Prompt: In the end, this is how the cookie crumbles... Michael shrugged his shoulders. He didn't want Selma to pity him. He didn't want anyone to pity him. That was just life. In the end, that was how the cookie crumbled and he was going to have to live with it. Monday's Prompt: make up/free write/take the day off Tuesday's Prompt: Skip Day Today's Prompt: If you say one more bad thing about the one I love, I'm going to have to hurt you. "If you say one more bad thing about the one I love," Alex said with a smile at Livianna, "I'm going to have to hurt you."

Prompt: "Tell me everything. I need to know!"
Livanna leaned forward, her chin in her hands as her eyes sparkled. "Tell me everything," she said. She loved living vicariously through her friends' lives. She loved hearing their stories, and especially this one. Jenica had been reunited with her best friend and childhood crush - Jayson. "I need to know!" she continued. Jenica smiled and willingly obliged. Prompt: "Started seeing someone." / "As in dating or hallucinations?"
"I started seeing someone," Anna said. All her roommates looked at her with wide eyes. Knowing Anna, they didn't know if that was a good thing or not. They glanced around at each other trying to figure out what to say, or if they should even say anything at all. "As in dating..." Jenica asked slowly, "Or hallucinations?" She couldn't figure out a delicate way to say it, so she didn't, she just said it like she saw it. She just hoped that Anna wouldn't be too offended. "As in dating," Anna laughed, rolling her eyes at Jenica. I love this trope. It's my favorite.
Prompt: The trope "who did this to you?" Michael brushed his hand against Selma's face, looking her over from head to toe. "Who did this to you?" he asked, looking at all the bruises she had on her body. His blood boiled at the thought of someone hurting her this way, and not being there to stop it. He should have helped her. He should have protected her. He had failed. The thought made his stomach curdle. Selma didn't respond. It didn't matter. What was done was done and there was nothing that could be done about it. There was no way to go back and change it. Prompt: "Do you love me?" / "Trust me...you don't want me to answer that question."
“You know,” Ruby said, “For someone who says that they are so evil and they don’t care about anyone, especially not me,” she put her hand on his naked chest and drew patterns, “You don’t let anyone else participate in my torture.” Everyone else in the group had taken their turn dealing with the other soldiers. They had shared stories of which soldier was the worst, which one they prefer. But not her. Henifer was always the one that came for her. He kept her safe from all the others. She looked at him lovingly as she continued to play with his chest. Poppy, Aleena, and all the others kept trying to tell her to stay away from Henifer, and to not get in too deep, but she couldn’t help it. They didn’t know him like she did. She knew his soul. “And you’re always so gentle with me,” she continued, “So you know what I think?” She pulled him close, kissing him deeply. “I think,” she said, not giving him time to answer, “That you’re not as evil as people think you are,” Ruby said. “No,” Henifer shook his head and smiled wickedly, “I’m much worse.” Ruby shook her head. He thought he was so evil, devil incarnate, but there was a sweetness about him, something innocent. He was no devil. “You may want to be the devil, but you are a white knight,” Ruby said. She kissed him, letting their mouths linger. “Do you love me?” she asked as she pulled away. She thought she knew the answer. “Trust me,” he said huskily, “You don’t want me to answer that question.” "But I do.” She could feel the thrill of what he was about to admit course through her being. “You’re right,” he whispered, his hands curling in her hair, “I’m not the devil.” She smiled as he lifted her into the air. “I’m much worse.” With all of his gentleness evaporating, he pushed her up against the wall and showed Ruby just how much of a devil he could be. Ruby curled herself up in a ball, her body bruised from her ordeal. What little hydration she had in her body seeped out of her with her tears as she trembled. Henifer sneered as he made his way toward her. “What?” Henifer smiled wickedly, reaching out to Ruby. She flinched as his hand came closer. Henifer laughed as he put his hand behind her neck, grabbing her hair and using it to drag her to her feet. “Is my soul too dark for you, baby?” he mocked. Ruby tried to squirm away from him and his touch, but Henifer just grabbed onto her, holding her even tighter and creating new bruises. She stopped fighting. After hours of enduring his torture, she knew that her fighting would only egg him on further. “Come on,” he said, pressing a bruising kiss on her lips, “Where’s that fire?” Peggy wanted to scream, but there was no point. The soldiers outside were used to screams. And her friends were caught in their own versions of Hell. No one was coming to save her. “Please stop,” Ruby begged as she once again tried to get away from his grasp. “What?” Henifer mocked, “You wanted to see the devil. Well, the devil is here.” Tears slipped down Ruby’s face as she shook her head. This couldn’t be happening. This had to be some kind of nightmare. All she had to do was wake up. Her breath came out in gasps as she tried to figure out how to breathe again. “How does it feel, my dear?” Henifer asked, throwing her across the room, and then going after her to once again drag her to her feet by her hair, “Losing the best thing that has ever happened to you?” “Why are you doing this?” Ruby asked. It was as if a switch had been flipped and he went from being Dr. Jekyll to Mr. Hyde. “You said you wanted the devil. Well, you got him,” Henifer sneered. “You can’t keep doing this!” Ruby cried. “I’m fairly certain I can,” Henifer said, bringing her closer to him, “Just watch me.” Ruby prayed for a quick end as he proved his point. Prompt: “There you are! I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” / “I’m sorry, do I know you?”
Jayson’s heart rose at the sight of Jenica. He had been looking all over for her. “There you are,” he breathed happily, “I’ve been looking everywhere for you!” He raced to her side and was about to throw his arms around her in an embrace. Jenica backed away from him, his eyes wide with fright. “I’m sorry,” she said, shaking her head, “Do I know you?” “Jenica,” Jayson said, “That isn’t funny.” “I never said it was,” Jenica said, “Who are you?” “It’s me,” Jayson said. His heart was racing. Did she really not remember who he was? This couldn’t be happening. This had to be some kind of nightmare. This couldn’t be real. “And you are?” Jenica asked. “Jayson,” Jayson said. Jenica shook her head. “I’m sorry,” she said with a shrug. Jayson’s heart fell as he walked away. Prompt: "You must be out of your mind..." / "Why? Because I want to marry you?"
Skye stared at Kevin like he was absolutely insane. "Are you serious?" Skye asked, "You must be out of your mind..." No one in their right mind would be proposing to her right here, right now. Especially not him. He must have been insane. He must have hit his head or something. There was no way he was being serious. "Why?" Kevin asked with a smile, "Because I want to marry you?" "Yes!" Skye exclaimed. That was the exact reason! Prompt: I swear if it's missing you're going to get it.
Malachi looked guiltily over at Kyron. Kyron's gut sunk. He knew that look, and he hated that look. "I swear," Kyron said, trying to hold in his anger, "If it's missing," he continued slowly, trying to breathe through his anger, "You're going to get it." Malachi began to back away from Kyron, trying to stay away from Kyron's grasp. "I lost it," Malachi said quickly as he darted away from Kyron. Kyron raced after him. Malachi was going to die. Prompt: Driving is a more intense/adult version of double dutch.
"What are you thinking about?" Jenica asked Jayson as he stared at the road with a thoughtful look on his face. "I was just thinking," Jayson admitted, his eyes never leaving the road as he watched the cars carefully, "That driving is just a more intense, adult version of double dutch." Jenica was taken back by the thought. She hadn't know what she had been expecting him to say, but it certainly wasn't that. "What do you mean?" she asked. "Well, in double dutch you have 2 ropes going in opposite directions, at the same time and you are supposed to jump in continue jumping and then jump out and not get hit by the ropes. Same with driving, you have all these cars going in opposite directions and you have to get the timing correctly to weave in and out of traffic or to make turns otherwise you'll get hit by a car. However, while in double dutch the worst that can happen is probably a scraped knee from getting tangled in the ropes, driving you could die if your timing is off." Prompt: "What are you doing here?" / "I didn't know where else to go."
Jayson stared at Jenica standing outside his door. She was dripping wet, shaking with the cold. She wasn't dressed for the downpour they were receiving, but then again, she never really seemed to be dressed for the weather. "What are you doing here?" he asked. He hadn't seen her for months and now here she was, standing in front of him, staring at him like a drowned rat. "I didn't know where else to go," she said. Her teeth were chattering with the cold. "Come in," Jayson said. While she came inside, Jayson hurried to his room to get her some dry clothes. |
