Prompt: “You will be alright.” / “We both know that’s a lie.” / “Perhaps, and yet...when I look at you, it’s the only thought that comes to mind.” Allen wrapped his arm around Felicia and she leaned her head against his shoulder. “You will be alright,” he whispered into the night. “We both know that’s a lie,” Felicia said softly. What they were about to do, there was no way that she was going to come out of it unscathed. No one was. They were going to lose everything. “Perhaps,” Allen confirmed. She had a point, and he couldn’t argue with her about that, “And yet….” okay, he was going to argue, only a little, “When I look at you,” he turned so he was actually looking at her, “It’s the only thought that comes to mind.” Felicia was a fighter. She was strong. No matter what life threw at her, no matter what happened, she seemed to take it all in stride. No matter the pain; no matter the suffering; she’d be okay. She could handle anything. She was a warrior. She was meant to survive.

Prompt: "Quit smiling like that. I can't stop messing up my sentences because you keep looking at me like that." here to edit.
"Quit smiling like that," Aaron said, his face going read at the sight of Susan's smile. "Why?" She asked playfully. "I can't stop messing up my sentences because you keep looking at me like that, " he explained. Only Susan could make him feel this was, and he wasn't sure how he felt about it, but at least he could now admit it, short of at least to her. Prompt: “I’m sorry.” / “You keep saying that.” / “Yes, but I really mean it.” / “NO….no you don’t.”
“I’m so, so, so sorry,” Ryan whined as she tried to breathe through her terror. “You keep saying that!” Charles snapped. Usually he could keep his cool with Ryan and all her antics. Often he found them amusing. However, this time it was far from amusing. Her little slip could ruin them. They had to get together. They had to come up with a plan. They couldn’t just roll over and let the FBI catch them. Honestly, he blamed himself. He had allowed the two of them to go out on their own before they were ready. He should have had them wait. He should have made them wait. But no, he had decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and now he was the one that was suffering the consequences. “Yes,” Ryan said, “But I really mean it!” She did. She didn’t mean to tell Henry, but it had happened, and she was sorry about it…sort of. “No!” Alysha said, “You don’t!” She knew Ryan well enough to know that she wasn’t sorry she said anything. She was sorry she got caught. Prompt:
Person A: I- ugh- I want to say it. Person B: Huh? Person A: You know, I want to say the thing Person B: Oh! Oh….is it a little soon for that? Person A: I don’t think there’s a timeline on something that’s this real, but if you don’t feel comfortable- Person B: Oh! I mean, kina, I guess, but if you wanna say it, it’s okay? Person A: Okay. Cover your ears up for a seg. B, I love you. Person B: *plugging ears* I think I love you too Sarah smiled over at Kyle. “I,” ugh she sighed, trying to figure out how to say it, “I want to say it.” “Huh?” Kyle asked, looking over at her in confusion. What was she talking about?” “You know,” Sarah hedged, “I want to say the thing.” “Oh!” the light dawned in his eyes, “Oh….is it a little soon for that?” “I don’t think there’s a timeline on something that’s this real,” she shrugged, “But if you don’t feel comfortable-“ Her heart ached a little at the thought that he didn’t want to say that he loved her, but that was okay. She was ready and she knew he’d be ready in his own time and he would say it when he was ready. “Oh!” Kyle shook his head trying to wrap his mind around what was being said, “I mean, kinda, I guess,” he shrugged, “But, if you wanna say it, it’s okay?” His heart was hammering in his chest at the thought but it excited him all the same. “Okay,” Sarah smiled, “Cover your ears up for a sec. He did as he was told. “Kyle, I love you.” “I think I love you too,” Kyle said. That was as close as he could get, but it was enough for Sarah. She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him. I kind of cheated on this one. It's one I wrote as a backup once and kept on my files so that I can pull out and use if life gets too busy or I can't think of anything else to do.
However, in my defense one of the reasons I needed to pull out this prompt was because I am working on getting my blogs into an anthology which has been a lot of work, but I have them separated out by books (so Hunter, Catch Me, NaNoWrimo, etc) now I'm working on putting Hunter's stories into a format so it's not just a bunch of random prompts but they can kind of flow into each other a little bit. It won't be perfect, because there are scenes that are more thoughts than actual scenes and scenes that don't really happen anywhere within the timeline of the story, or scenes that are similar, but I'm doing the best that I can. I think at least Hunter's Anthology will be done by July. Prompt: “There is an easier way to do that, but I won’t bother telling you what it is, since I am fairly certain you’d rather do it your own way than listen to common sense.” / “You know me so well. “Need some help?” / “Yeah, thanks!” / “Oh no….I’m not going to help you….I was just asking.” Allen looked over at Aiden as he struggled to handle the project that was assigned to him. Allen knew that Aiden was making things so much harder than they had to be, or in other words, being a typical Aiden. “There is an easier way to do that,” Allen said, after staring at his friend for several minutes, “But I won’t bother telling you what it is, since I am fairly certain you’d rather do it your own way than listen to common sense.” “You know me so well,” Aiden grunted. At that moment, Carrie came to find them. She too took a moment to stare at Aiden, trying to figure out what he was doing and why he was doing it that way. There were so many easier ways for him to finish his project, yet he seemed to take the hardest path. As always. “Need some help?” she finally asked. “Yeah,” Aiden said, his eyes brightening with the thought that someone was about to come help him through his struggles, “Thanks.” “Oh no….” Carrie backed up and shook her head furiously, “I’m not going to help you,” she put her hands up as to confirm that she was going to stay clean from it all, “I was just asking.” Aiden glared at his friend’s little sister and kept on doing what he was doing while the siblings watched in fascination. Prompt: A damsel in distress who is actually a villain that captures the heroes that have come to “save” her.
Magriel laughed wickedly as she saw yet another man in shining armor come riding up to the castle. She could sense his arrogance all the way from her tower. They were all the same. They were all arrogant, prideful jerks. They thought they were so awesome because they were able to ‘vanquish’ the dragon at the gate. They didn’t. Not really. The dragon played with them, and played on their stupidity. It allowed these ‘heroes’ to think that they had won, that they had really killed it, but they hadn’t, anymore than getting tickled by a feather would kill a human. Hundreds of heroes had come to try their luck in ‘saving’ the damsel in distress, locked up in a tower guarded by a fire breathing dragon, waiting for her prince to come rescue her. All had done the same thing, vanquish the dragon, deluded into thinking they were safe, but the real danger came when they got into the tower. That was when the real terror would begin. That was when she got to play. Oh road trips......hopefully if they go on this one it won't be like the last time.
Prompt: “Why don’t we take a road trip?” / “How about no. I still haven’t recovered from the last one.” / “That was ten years ago.” It was time to celebrate. With the babies doing well, and their lives moving on, it was time to figure out what to do. “Why don’t we take a road trip?” Henry suggested. “How about no,” Alysha shook her head. “I still haven’t recovered from the last one,” Skye shuddered at the same time. Henry glanced around at the girls with an incredulous look on his face. “That was ten years ago,” he said. “Yeah,” Skye said. “And it lasted ten years ago,” Alysha said almost at the same time. Prompt: Choose your last words wisely,” sneered the villain. The hero shakily lifted their head, “I love you.”
“Choose your last words wisely,” Andrews sneered as he put a knife to Gabriella’s throat. If he couldn’t have her he didn’t want anyone to have her. Especially not Gregory. He had swooped in and taken Gabriella away from him, and so now, Gabriella had to die. Gabriella shakily lifted her head higher, giving him more of a view of her neck, and raised her eyes to look just behind Andrews’ shoulder and looked right at Gregory. “I love you,” she said softly. Andrews blinked back in surprise. That wasn’t what he was expecting. He wanted her to beg for her life. He wanted her to tell him to get rid of Gregory, to spare her life in exchange for his, something like that. “I love you too,” Gregory said softly as he brought the vase down on Andrews’ head, rendering him unconscious. It's not often that you get to see Aiden in this light. Usually when you see him he's annoying Felicia, or thinking he's the most charming person known to man, when in reality he's rather annoying....but this prompt shows him in a different light.
(No, it's not a redemption curve or anything....he's still a jerk and bullheaded and thinks he's such hot stuff.....but people aren't two dimensional, and there are multiple faucets to personalities, this is simply a side of him that isn't often seen-just like everyone has a side that people don't normally see.) Prompt: "I knew it was you. It was always you." / "No, you are wrong. I am not the one you should rely on to save you. If you do, I am afraid you will only get hurt." / "I'm already hurt, and you are the only one here who can heal me." / "Just because I can, does not mean I will. Do not forget I have my own problems to deal with." Sasha glanced over at Aiden as he stepped inside the hut. She let out a small smile. “I knew it was you,” she said softly, “It was always you.” He had saved her. Over and over again, he had come to her rescue. He was the only one who had ever done that. Not even her own father had done as much as Aiden, to find her, to take care of her, to protect her, to heal her. “No,” Aiden shook his head, looking like a deer in the headlights as his heart began to race. It was one thing to drag Allen into his messed up life. It was Allen. He couldn’t drag someone else into it. Especially not Sasha. This was too much. He couldn’t let this continue. “You’re wrong,” Aiden continued making his way toward her, “I am not the one you should rely on to save you.” Sasha gave a little chuckle as if he was being the biggest idiot she had ever met. “If you do,” Aiden said, sitting down heavily on the bed, unable to look at her, “I am afraid you will only get hurt.” “I’m already hurt,” Sasha said, taking his hand in hers, “And you are the only one here who can help me.” “Just because I can, does not mean I will,” Aiden explained. He couldn’t let her continue to believe in him like this. He couldn’t have her relying on him this way. It was too dangerous. “Don’t forget,” Aiden said, trying to play hard ball, “I have my own problems to deal with.” “I know you say this out of fear,” Sasha said softly, understandingly. She was scared too. A person would have to be an idiot not to be scared. They were starting a war. A war….so easy to start. A mere blip of a thing….oh yes, the starting of a war was the easy part. Actually winning the war? Well, that was where the difficulty lay. Especially when it came to a war with Selm. “For the first time in my life,” Aiden deflated, “I’m not confident. I don’t know if I can do this. I’m not confident that I can win this fight.” Aiden took a breath. Sasha was the only person, besides Allen, who had ever had the opportunity to see Aiden without his devil may care attitude. Sasha was the only girl who saw beneath all the bluster and false confidence and could get to the depths of his soul and pull even the most secret part out of him. “We have to win,” Sasha sat upright, still holding Aiden’s hand, “If we don’t, not only will we lose the war, but we will lose everything.” Selm would take everything from their enemies. They would bring them to their knees until they were begging for release. They would send them into a living Hell with no escape but death, which would come slowly and painfully. “Perhaps I deserve it,” Aiden said almost too softly to be heard, even by Sasha, “After everything I’ve done.” Sasha nodded her head. She wasn’t quite sure what he meant, she didn’t know all the details of his past, but she understood the feeling behind it. She, too, felt as if she deserved it, after everything she had done. She was almost sure that everyone else felt the same, but that didn’t mean they could just give up. They had to keep fighting. They had to keep moving forward. It wasn’t just about them. If they lost, it wouldn’t just be them that had to deal with the consequences. Everyone would. “This isn’t just about us,” Sasha said, “It’s about our villages, our worlds, it’s about everyone,” she moved his head so he was looking at her and held on even tighter to his hand, “Which is why we can’t afford to lose.” “This isn’t going to end well of us,” Aiden said. “No,” Sasha confirmed, “It will not.” Their chances of seeing this through to the end were not good. The odds of both of them making it through the end, were even less. “You’re okay with that?” Aiden asked, eyeing her, “I have nothing to lose.” He was a nothing. A no one. She, she was a princess. A totally different world away. She had so much more to lose than him. “You have an entire kingdom in the balance.” Sasha shook her head. It wasn’t her kingdom. She no longer belonged there. She wasn’t a part of them. She was no more a princess than Jesse or Carrie were. “What is a crown?” Sasha asked, “A collection of polished gemstones on a circular band made of precious metals,” she explained, “I have you,” she patted his hand, “And I would take you over a thousand crowns, any time, even if it’s just a few years, months, weeks, days, or even hours.” Aiden took her hand and placed a kiss on the back. “You should get some rest,” he said, standing to go, “You’ll need your strength for what’s about to come.” He kissed the top of her head and walked out of the room. There were a couple of ways this could have gone. I figured I had done something similar to this with Carrie and Hunter....and am always doing Hunter and Carrie prompts (even if I hadn't already done something like this already for them) that you guys could use a break. Although it's within the same universe, so I couldn't give you a total break :p. But it's Felicia and Allen this time.
Prompt: She never spoke, never made a sound, but the look in her eye told me exactly what was going to happen. Of all the crazy, life defying things he had done in his life, this had to be the biggest. This wouldn’t just end up getting him killed, but it could possibly destroy entire villages too. This wasn’t just some crazy, idiotic thought that Aiden came up with to ward off his boredom. This was life or death. The life or death thousands of people. This was business. This was war. Never before, in any of his decisions, had he had the luxury of having an oracle tell him what could happen if he chose one course over another. With so much hanging on this one choice, this one decision, Allen felt he had no other choice but to ask the oracle. He had to know. For his peace of mind. For the safety of thousands of souls. He had to know. He made his way toward the oracle. The oracle was sitting with its back toward him, leaning over something that held a strange glow about it. The oracle was mumbling something, whether he was too far away or it was in a language he didn’t understand, he couldn’t determine. He was just about step out of the shadows when the oracles head turned toward Allen, causing a chill to run through his body. “I’ve been waiting for you,” the oracle. Allen knew he shouldn’t be surprised by what the oracle had said, after all it was kind of its job to know these things, but still, it startled him nonetheless. “Come, come,” the oracle gestured him near. Allen found himself moving forward, toward the glowing object, and once again stopped short; this time not by the magical being and its powers, but something ordinary, something he saw every day, and yet hadn’t fathomed seeing there. Felicia. She turned to look at him. She didn’t speak. Didn’t even make a sound. She didn’t have to. The look in her eye told him exactly what was going to happen. Well, if not exactly, enough. Her look was enough. He knew. |
