Prompt: A bullet wound and a friendly soldier
Pain ripped through Jared's body, heating the very blood that coursed through his veins. He shook as the trauma surged through his body. HE was losing a lot of blood and if he didn't get help soon, he was going do die. He would just become one of the thousands of men who had lost their lives on that battlefield. A young, friendly face appeared in Jared's line of vision. The face came closer to him, showing the uniform of the other side. "He's going to kill me," Jared thought to himself. "Looks like you found yourself in a bit of a pickle," the soldier said, "Let's get you fixed up here, shall we?" The young soldier tore some pieces of cloth to put on the wound to stem the bleeding. While he worked, he talked. Jared drifted in and out of consciousness, allowing the soldiers voice to lull him into a sense of relaxation and security. Prompt: "Here's the real question: how have you survived this long when you're violently self-destructive? I'm still standing I'm still alive But how? That is the real question How have I, Survived this long When I'm so violently, Self-destructive? I don't know. I couldn't tell you. Not with, The voices in my head. I guess I grew used to them. The voices. The ones that told me To jump off a cliff To swerve into oncoming traffic To cut myself To drown in the ocean. They were always there. My mind and body Were always coming up With new ways to kill me. I was always ready to die. I didn't know any different. Even in my happy moments, When I was feeling On top of the world. My mind was trying to kill me. Always It was never ending. Somedays, I could drown out the voices. Sometimes, They weren't as loud. Sometimes, The logical part, Kept them at bay. Sometimes. But there were other times. Where the voices got too loud. Times I couldn't keep them at bay. Times where the voices won out, Times where I wondered How I was still alive. How did I survive? That is the question.

Prompt: If I were you, I'd fall in love with me.
"If I were you," Ryan said lightly with a smile, "I'd fall in love with me." She couldn't see why anyone wouldn't fall head over heels in love with her. She was great. Anyone would be lucky to love and be loved by her. It was the greatest gift. Prompt: "So, where were you when this all happened?" / "Where was I? Hmm....that is a very good question." / "You're not going to tell me?" / "Nope." "Where were you when this all happened?" Arnosio asked. He pulled out his notebook. He was thrilled that his first case was such a juicy one. "Where was I?" Ashton hemmed, "Hmm...." Arnosio continued to hem, as if he truly was thinking about where he had been during the going-on's of the night before. "That is a very good question." "You're not going to tell me?" Arnosio looked so dejected by the thought that he wouldn't be getting the answers he wanted. His face looked much like a child who had just learned that Santa, the Easter Bunny, and the Tooth Fairy weren't real in one terrible moment. "Nope," Ashton said smugly. He enjoyed the look on Arnosio's face as it fell. It made him feel superior. The police were nincompoops and deserved absolutely no help from him. They would just have to figure it out on their own. Prompt: When I get back, you better feel appropriately sorry for what you did.
Ryan fumed. She wasn't going to just take this lying down. "When I get back," she warned as she stormed to the door, "You better feel appropriately sorry for what you did!" She left the room with a slam of the door. Kevin looked over at Skye and gave an amused smile. No one could keep a straight face. They were going to have a hard time keeping an appropriately serious face when Ryan came back. Prompt: "You came?" / "You called." Skye paused in her tracks and stared at Kevin. She hadn't really expected him to be there, not now, not after everything that had happened. He had been avoiding her for days, not that she blamed him, she had been pushing him away for days as well. Even though she knew she shouldn't, even though she knew she should still push him away and let him go, she found herself drawn to him, she found herself reaching out to him when times got rough. She couldn't help it. "You came?" she asked. She couldn't take her eyes off of him. "You called," Kevin said with a shrug, as if it was a no brainer that he would come when she called. He would. He would do anything for her. So when she called, there had been no question in his mind that he would come and help her. His words broke something inside of Skye and all the tears and heartbreak that she had been trying to hide came bubbling to the surface and broke out of her. Knowing what was soon to come, Kevin strode to Skye's side and wrapped his arms around her, letting her sink into him, and bearing her weight as she sunk to the ground and released all the emotions she had kept locked up for too long. Prompt: “Did you really want to die?” / “No one commits suicide because they want to die.” / “Then why do they do it?” / “Because they want to stop the pain.”
Alex wrapped his arms tightly around Livianna. He held her like he would never let her go. If he could, he would wrap her up in bubble wrap and keep her safe forever. He would never let anything bad ever touch her again. “Did you really want to die?” Alex asked, holding her even tighter. “No one commits suicide because they want to die,” Livianna said She picked at the blanket they had wrapped around her. “Then why do they do it?” Alex asked. He didn’t understand. He had never been on that ledge. He had never felt that pain. “Because they want to stop the pain.” People didn’t want to die. Every fiber of their being fought against it. They wanted to live. But sometimes, the darkness and pain got too overwhelming. Sometimes they just couldn’t find another way out of the Hell that they were in. Prompt: The sky turned purple.
The world continued to move on as Landon laid on the floor, his life seeping out of his body. The sun fully set, turning the sky purple. Landon would never see another sunset. He wouldn't live long enough to see the sunrise. He was gone before the moon had fully risen. Prompt: And in the middle of my chaos there was you.
I was drowning, Suffocating, Barely keeping my head above The water That was trying to kill me. Voices in my head, Rang through my head. Making it impossible To hear, Anything else. My world was turned Upside down. And I was dying, And no one Could hear me scream. There was chaos All around me, Rubble From where My life fell apart. And in the middle Of all the chaos, In the midst Of all the darkness There was you. Prompt: Lost in a city
"Where are we going?" Kevin asked. "I don't know," Skye said. She had thought that Kevin knew where they were going. She wasn't one for directions and had absolutely no idea where they were or where they were going, she had just figured Kevin knew where he was going and had willingly followed him to wherever their destination was. "What do you mean you don't know?" Kevin asked. He had thought she had known where they were going. She had chosen the direction where they were going, she had parked the car, so he naturally figured she knew where she was going. "I was just following you." "I was following you!" The two of them laughed. Oh to be lost in the city. Felt like old times. Prompt: Fatherly Advice
Prompt: That was manipulation. / That was traumatic. / That was abuse. / That broke me. / You broke me It was manipulation. It was traumatic. It was abuse. You tried to break me. You thought you could. That trauma, That manipulation, That abuse, Didn't break me. I refuse to let you break me. Prompt: I am overwhelmed right now, please stop talking.
"It's going to be okay," Tyler said, trying to comfort Lisbet. Lisbet jerked away from Tyler's touch. She was too overstimulated to want anyone to touch her. She couldn't even the stand of sound and feel of him breathing next to her. "I promise," Tyler continued, seemingly unaware of the problems she was having. "Listen," Lisbet snapped, "I am overwhelmed right now," she got to her feet and walked away from him, "So I'm going to need you to please stop talking!" She stormed out of the room and tried to bring her state of anxiety down. Prompt: Congratulations, you have survived. Now live with the trauma. It doesn't seem right, Does it? That you can survive, And get through Such a difficult time, And still never be free. Congratulations, You survived. Now live With the trauma. Congratulations, You survived. But you'll never Sleep again. Congratulations, You survived. But You'll never be The same Again. Prompt: I just don't know how much I can trust you right now.
"What's wrong?" Landon asked. He moved closer to Anya and placed his hand on her shoulder. Anya moved away from his touch. "Nothing," Anya said. "You and I both know that that is a lie," Landon said. If nothing was wrong, she would let him touch her. She wouldn't move away from his touch, she would talk to him. "Now, what's wrong?" Landon asked. "I just..." Anya stammered, "I just don't know how much..." she paused. "How much, what?" Landon encouraged. "How much I can trust you right now," Anya admitted. Landon stared at her. No one had said that they didn't trust him before. They probably didn't. He knew his reputation. He knew how he came across. But no one had actually ever had the courage to admit that they didn't trust him. Prompt: "There is no case!" / "Yes there is!" / "No. There. Isn't!" / "Yes there is!" / "Will someone restrain him?" / His companion laughed, "When you figure out how, let me know." "There is no case!" Brone said, shaking his head. There was no body. No evidence. There was nothing to show that a crime had been committed. "Yes there is!" Cian jumped to his feet. "No." Brone said each word curtly, "There. Isn't!" With each word, Brone's voice rose. "Yes!" Cian lunged toward Brone, "There is!" "Will someone restrain him?" Brone asked, moving out of the way of Cian's attack. Cian's companion simply laughed at the scene. Cian was quite the hot head, and he hadn't been able to do anything to calm that fire, he doubted he would be able to do so now. "When you figure out how, let me know," Cian's companion laughed as he walked away. This wasn't his circus. |
